Jeferson De studied cinema in the University of São Paulo (USP), one of the most important in Latin America. There he initiated a project called "Dogma Feijoada", whose goal is the audiovisual production made by black people in front and behind the cameras. Three short films came out of it: "Distraída pra Morte" (2001), "Carolina" (2003) and "Narciso Rap" (2005). "_Bróder" (2010)_, his first feature, was contemplated in the 6th Sundance Screenwriters Lab, screened in the 60th Berlinale, and in festivals in Miami, New York, Chicago, among other cities and countries, and also won awards in some of Brazil's main film festivals. He also directed a children's TV series, "Pedro e Bianca", winner of an Emmy for Best Series at the 2nd International Emmy Kids Awards and the Ibero-American Prix Jeunesse in the fiction category for the 12 years old age group. De directed several TV shows' seasons and episodes throughout his career, broadcasted in many channels in Brazil. His second feature, "O Amuleto", was released in 2015. _"Correndo Atrás"_, the most recent one, has had its premiere in the Pan-African Film Festival, in Los Angeles, in February of 2018. Nowadays, he is directing another children's TV Show, "Escola de Gênios" and developing new projects of his own. Among them a biographical feature on the black Brazilian intellectual, Luiz Gama, who released hundreds of slaves based in the knowledge of the law.
